On the morning of Nag Panchami, devotees take a bath and make an image of the serpent deity out of clay or cow dung, placing it at their doorstep. After this, they offer durva, kasha, and flowers to the deity. Milk-based dishes, such as kheer and sweets, are the primary dishes for the occasion and are later offered to the deity.
Several serpent deities are worshiped on Nag Panchami, including Ananta, Shesha, Vasuki, Kambala, Padma, and Kaliya.
