Maha Shivratri Vrat Recipe: The festival of Mahashivratri will be celebrated on 26 February this year. Mahashivratri is a very important festival in Hinduism. On this day, devotees worship and adore Mahadev. Many people also observe fast on this day to get blessings from Mahadev and to please him. Some people also eat fruits on this day. During the fast, things made from sago are eaten. Many nutrients are found in sago such as fiber, iron and potassium. It is high in carbohydrates, which gives energy to the body. Ingredients for making Sabudana Khichdi

  • 1 cup sabudana
  • 1-2 green chillies
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • half a cup of peanuts
  • Rock salt as per taste
  • One teaspoon ginger finely chopped
  • 1 potato
  • coriander finely chopped

Method of making Sabudana Khichdi

  • First of all, wash the sago thoroughly. Now soak it in water for about an hour.
  • Before making Sabudana Khichdi, peel the potatoes and wash them thoroughly. Now cut them into small pieces. Cutting them into small pieces will make them cook quickly and easily.
  • Now fry the peanuts well in a pan. Heat ghee in the same pan. Now add cumin seeds to it. When the cumin seeds crackle, add green chillies and ginger. Fry all of them on low flame.
  • Now add chopped potatoes and cook well. When the potatoes are cooked, add soaked sabudana to them. Keep the sabudana covered and keep checking in between. 
  • When it is cooked properly, add salt as per taste and mix roasted peanuts in it. Before taking it off, put coriander leaves on it.
