On this occasion, apart from Navjot Singh Sidhu, many Congress leaders of Punjab including former Punjab Congress President Shamsher Singh Dullo, former MLA Nazar Singh Manshahiya, Jagdev Singh Kamalu, Mahesh Inder Singh and Bathinda Rural Congress in-charge Harbinder Ladi were present there.

The meeting concluded that the party remembers Navjot Singh Sidhu only when it needs him to strengthen the party, but ignores him after the elections. During the period when the party decided the candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, no discussion was held with Navjot Singh Sidhu. However, now he is seeking Sidhu's support for campaign rallies.

Sidhu is angry with the party. He says that when Navjot Singh Sidhu was holding rallies across Punjab to strengthen the party, many leaders who organized these rallies were wrongfully expelled from the party. It was decided in the meeting that until the party high command resolves the entire issue by discussing with Navjot Singh Sidhu and re-inducting the leaders of Sidhu's group who were expelled from the Congress, no member of Sidhu's group will join the Congress. Will not campaign for candidates.

He had refused the ticket citing his wife's ill health and later joined the IPL citing financial reasons. At present, Sidhu is associated with IPL as a commentator. Due to his association with IPL, Sidhu has kept his distance from political programs. Due to this meeting held with the leaders of his group just before the Lok Sabha elections, the situation in Punjab Congress may once again become 'Sidhu versus all'.
