Liver Failure Treatment: Doctors in Bengaluru saved the life of a 25-year-old woman suffering from liver failure due to dengue. 

Sonali (name changed), who had come to Bangalore from Rajasthan for a function, suddenly started feeling very cold during an event and her health started deteriorating. She was given 20 to 25 units of blood products as initial treatment at the local hospital, but her condition started deteriorating further. She had lung problems and swelling due to bleeding, after which the doctors told her that she may need a liver transplant. Doctors are calling Sonali's recovery nothing less than a miracle. 

Many organs were not working

Dr Ganjoo, a specialist in hepatology and integrated liver care at Aster RV Hospital, said that after seeing Sonali's condition, she was referred to the liver team at Aster RV Hospital. When Sonali was admitted, she was almost unconscious, and many of her organs were affected.

Liver regenerative therapy is done 

The team immediately took her condition seriously and provided her with 'liver regenerative therapy' along with other treatments. After this treatment, Sonali regained consciousness within 48 to 72 hours, which was a turning point in her recovery. Essential vitamins and minerals were given through nasal tubes to support the patient's nutritional needs and liver detoxification and metabolic function.

Recovery is nothing short of a miracle - Dr.

After spending six days in the ICU, Sonali was shifted to the ward for recovery. Dr Romil, a member of the liver team, said, "Sonali's case was extremely critical and her recovery was nothing short of a miracle."
