Liquor and beer sold on Holi more than on New Year

The trend of celebrating festivals by drinking alcohol is increasing rapidly in Rajasthan. Along with the New Year, people have now started drinking a lot of alcohol on Holi.

On the occasion of Holi-Dhulandi, liquor worth more than 100 crores was sold in the state from March 4 to 6.

In these three days, the liquor contract operators picked up liquor worth Rs 113.25 crore from the godowns. It had a stock of beer worth Rs 52.50 crore.

Due to the heat, people drank beer heavily, due to which the consumption of beer on Holi has doubled as compared to New Year.

On December 31, 2022, during the New Year celebration, liquor worth Rs 111 crore were sold in the state in two days.
