Every year the whole of India waits for the doors of Kedarnath temple to open. In such a situation, it is being said that this year the doors of the temple will be opened for the devotees on May 10 at 7 am.

As soon as the doors of Kedarnath temple open, devotees start arriving for darshan. Due to being at the height of the Himalayas, the weather here also keeps changing all the time. In such a situation, it becomes very important to keep many things in mind before going here.

Prepare yourself first 

There is a lot of difference between setting out on a journey to Kedarnath and planning the journey. Many people think that they can visit Kedarnath very easily, but for your information, let us tell you that it is not so easy to visit Lord Shankar.

To visit Kedarnath, one has to trek about 16 km long. During trekking, one has to pass through plains, mountains, rocks, forests, waterfalls and rivers, which is very difficult for many people. 

Let us tell you that this trekking starts from Gaurikund and ends at Kedarnath. In such a situation, it is extremely important to prepare yourself before the journey. 

Don't forget to register 

You might be thinking that like other temples, it is very easy to go to Kedarnath, but for your information, let us tell you that before going to Kedarnath, you have to register.

For your information, let us tell you that after reaching Sonprayag, biometric registration is done by the Uttarakhand government. It is very important to get registered. 

Let us tell you that registration can be done offline or online. For registration, you must have an Aadhar card or any other ID.

Carry warm clothes 

This year the doors of the temple are opening on May 10, 2024. In other parts of the country, there is severe heat in May, April and June, but during Kedarnath trekking, it is not hot but cold and it also starts raining.

Yes, if you are leaving for Kedarnath Yatra in April, May June or even July, then you must pack warm clothes with you. Apart from this, you should also pack an umbrella or raincoat with you.

Keep these things in mind also 

• Before leaving for Kedarnath Yatra, do not forget to pack some essential medicines. Like fever, cold, cough or pain etc.
• If you are going on Kedarnath Yatra, then do not make the mistake of taking small children along.
• Do not go during the night journey to Kedarnath, because during the night journey, wild animals also roam around the trek.
• Before setting out on a journey, wear good quality running shoes.
• If you cannot travel on foot, you can go on a mule from Gaurikund or Sonprayag.
