ISRO starts a free online course, know when and how you can apply?

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has launched a free online course for youth interested in remote sensing. This course is a great opportunity for those who want to make a career in the field of remote sensing. The online course is offered by the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), which operates under the aegis of ISRO.

The Advanced in Remote Sensing Techniques for Geological Applications course started by IIRS has been designed to provide practical information in the field of remote sensing. This includes mapping, monitoring, landslides etc. Study material will be provided to the candidates through the e-class platform. Candidates will be able to take classes by visiting eclass.iirs.gov.in/login.

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

Candidates applying for this free online course must have a postgraduate degree in Earth Sciences. Additionally, candidates who have backgrounds in subjects like Geology, Applied Geology, Geophysics, Earth Science, Geo Exploration, and Geography and have a B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Geology, and Mining Engineering can apply for this course.

Who will get the certificate?

On completion of the course, candidates will be awarded a certificate. Students registering through nodal centres will get a certificate based on 70% attendance. Individual registrants are required to attend each program session for 70 hours. Candidates registering individually can download the certificate online through ISRO LMS.
