Bhagandar, though the name sounds strange, is a serious disease. It is a disease that can grow from a simple boil to severe pain, which can happen to anyone. This disease is also called fistula. Bhagandar can cause deadly pain due to accumulation of pus in the anal canal. Understand this disease in such a way that it connects some of our delicate organs or nerves which are not connected to each other. Like intestine to the skin, vagina to the rectum. Let's know about the symptoms, causes, prevention and treatment of Bhagandar:

The most common fistula is an anal fistula. It is like a small tube that connects the last part of the intestine to the skin near the anus. Sometimes an operation is required due to accumulation of pus in the anal tube.

Difference between fistula and piles

Many people get confused between piles and fistula, while there is a huge difference between the two. In piles, the vein outside the anus swells and becomes thick and comes out as big as a grape. In case of severe constipation, it bursts and starts bleeding. When it happens inside the anus, it is called a fistula, which is a serious problem.

Symptoms of Fistula:

  • Recurrent anal abscesses
  • Pain and swelling around the anus
  • Painful bowel movement
  • Bleeding from the anus
  • Fever, chills, and fatigue
  • Constipation, inability to pass stools
  • Foul-smelling and bloody pus discharge from the anus
  • Irritation of the skin around the anus due to frequent pus discharge

Rescue

If you have ever had a pimple, boil etc. near the anus, you should take precautions to avoid a fistula.

  • In case of constipation or dry stool, take an adequate amount of fibre.
  • Drink plenty of fluids/drinks. Avoid drinking alcohol and caffeine (tea-coffee).
  • Do not hold back the urge to defecate. Even if it is very important, do not hold it for too long.
  • To keep the digestive system fit, exercise for at least 30 minutes daily.
  • Take enough time to defecate. Don't rush too much and don't sit for too long.
  • Keep the anus clean and dry. Clean thoroughly after defecation.

Fistula test

Some people's fistula is easy to detect and some are difficult. Sometimes it heals on its own and sometimes it reoccurs after healing.

To diagnose it, the doctor checks for signs of discharge and bleeding from the anus. A colonoscopy may also be needed to diagnose it. In this, a tube with a camera is inserted into your anus and the inside of the anus and rectum is examined.
