When it comes to train reservations, you have three options: either you can visit the ticket counter, book through an agent, or reserve your ticket yourself through the IRCTC website.

The third method allows you to book your ticket online from the comfort of your home. However, to do this you will have to create an account on the IRCTC website.

You can access IRCTC using both your phone and laptop. You can download the IRCTC app on both Android and iOS platforms.

To create an account on IRCTC, you first have to go to their official website irctc.co.in. There, you can register for a new account by clicking on the 'Sign Up' option.

On clicking, you will be redirected to the IRCTC registration form where you will have to enter the required details. This includes choosing a username, answering security questions, and providing your full name, gender, marital status, occupation, date of birth and other required information.

Next, you have to enter your address, pin code and finally a captcha code. After filling all the required fields, click on 'Submit'. You will receive a code on your registered mobile number and email ID. After entering this code, you have to click on 'Submit' to create your account.

Once your account is created, you can also download the IRCTC Rail Connect app on your phone to avail of IRCTC services.
