Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has set the last date for applications for UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2024 as today, March 6. Candidates aspiring to become Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) officers have time till 6 pm. Apply today According to the official notification on the UPSC website, the initial deadline for application was March 5, which has been extended by one day.

As per the official notification released earlier by the Commission, the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam is scheduled to be held on May 26, 2024. Candidates successful in the preliminary exam will proceed to the main exam, which is scheduled to begin on September 20. Will last for five days. This year, UPSC advertised 1,056 vacancies through the Civil Services Examination. Last year, there were 1,105 vacancies, in 2021 there were 712 vacancies and in 2020 there were 796 vacancies.

Eligibility and age criteria for application

Candidates applying must be graduates in any stream. The age of the candidate should not be between 21 years (as of 1 August 2024) and more than 32 years. The date of birth of the candidate should not be between 2nd August 1992 and after 1st August 2003.

Candidates can apply by visiting the official website of UPSC upsc.gov.in. On the homepage, click on the “One Time Registration” tab. Fill in the required information and complete the registration. Upload the required documents.

Three-stage selection process

UPSC will conduct the selection process through three stages: Preliminary, Mains and Interview. There will be objective-type questions in the preliminary examination. Candidates successful in the preliminary examination will be eligible to apply for the main examination. Those who qualify for the main examination will be called for an interview.
