Eyes Care: Most people like the cold season. But as much as the winter season feels good, it brings with it challenges. Many problems like colds, coughs, and flu can occur in this season. While taking care of physical health, we forget to take care of the eyes. This can increase the risk of eye problems.

Dr. Mandeep Basu at Basu Eye Care Center says that people often ignore eye health. During winter, problems like dryness, stress, and irritation can occur in the eyes. In such a situation, you can do eye exercises prescribed in Ayurveda. Along with this, you can avoid any kind of eye-related problem by paying attention to diet.

Do Tratak (concentrated gaze)

Practicing Tratak is one of the simplest and most effective exercises. Practicing it increases focus and also improves eye health. To do Tratak, you have to keep a candle at a distance of 2 to 3 feet and constantly focus on the flame of the candle. You can start the practice with 2 to 3 minutes and gradually do it for 5 to 10 minutes.

Palming

In the corporate world, screen timing increases due to working for long hours on laptops. But this screen timing is dangerous for the eyes. Palming is one of the best techniques to relax stressed eyes. First, rub your palms together quickly and then place them on closed eyes without applying extra pressure. Do this for 1 to 2 minutes to reduce eye fatigue and dryness.

Eye rotation exercise

Rotating the eyes is considered an easy and effective exercise. In this exercise, you have to rotate your eyes both clockwise and anti-clockwise. You can do this exercise for 5 to 10 minutes. This reduces eye stress.

splash water in your eyes

Splashing water in the eyes clears them. However, splash water only with your eyes closed. This reduces dryness of the eyes. It also provides relief from irritation and itching.

Keep these things in mind too

Experts say that include foods rich in vitamin A in your diet, such as carrots, spinach and sweet potatoes. Drink adequate amounts of water.
