Holi, the festival of colours, will be celebrated on 25 March. On this day people play and enjoy with different colours. However, the biggest challenge of playing Holi is removing the colours afterwards. Although it is always advisable to play Holi with natural colours and take precautions regarding skin and hair care, sometimes guests bring colours that are difficult to remove.

People often do many things to remove the colour from their faces. They scrub their skin vigorously with water and soap, which can potentially damage the skin and cause dryness and rashes. Therefore, after playing Holi, you can also use these home remedies to remove stubborn colours.

Coconut Oil:

Coconut oil can help in removing stubborn colours from the face. Massage the areas from which you want to remove colour with coconut oil. Let it soak into the skin and the discoloration will gradually fade away. Just remember not to rub the face too hard. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes before washing it off with a mild cleanser.

Cucumber:

You can also use cucumber to remove the colours of Holi. Grate the cucumber to extract its juice. Then add a little rose water and vinegar to it. Apply this mixture to your face with the help of cotton. Wash your face with water after 10-15 minutes. This can help in lightening the colour spots.

Aloe Vera Gel:

Aloe Vera Gel helps in hydrating the skin. Apply fresh aloe vera gel directly to your skin and hair and massage gently. After 20-30 minutes, wash it off with lukewarm water. This can also help in removing the colours of Holi.

Curd and turmeric:

Add a pinch of turmeric powder to plain curd. Apply this mixture to your skin. Especially where colour is applied, leave it on for 20-30 minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water. This can help in lightening the colour spots.
