Exercise is not only necessary to give shape to the body. Many studies have claimed that people who exercise regularly have very low chances of having serious health problems like diabetes, heart disease, depression, anxiety, stroke, insomnia, etc.

According to WHO (World Health Organization), people who do not exercise have a 20-30 percent higher risk of premature death. The organization has also stated that one in every 4 people does not exercise enough. Target Fitness Guidance

How long and which exercise a person should do depends on many factors. Recently WHO has shared a guideline on physical activity, with the help of which you can easily understand the needs of your body-

Children and teens (ages 5-17)

At least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity a day. At least 3 days a week should include vigorous aerobic exercise and activities that build strong muscles and bones.

Adults (ages 18–64)

At least 150 to 300 minutes of moderate (or 75 to 150 minutes of hard) aerobic activity a week. Muscle-strengthening exercises twice a week.

Older adults (over 65 years of age)

Older adults can follow the same guidelines as younger adults, but should also include strength and balance training 2 to 3 times a week to prevent falls.

Pregnant and postpartum women

150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity per week, including muscle-strengthening activities.

People with health conditions

These people can follow the recommendations made for healthy adults and children in consultation with their doctor.
