Guru Nanak Jayanti: The Golden Temple lit up with lights on the occasion of Gurpurab!


Today November 19 is being celebrated as the holy festival of Guru Nanak Jayanti. It marks the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, one of the first ten Sikh Gurus. Sikhs believe that Guru Nanak Dev Ji brought wisdom to this world. This year marks the 552nd birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

Guru Parv is celebrated every year. However, the date varies every time. According to the lunar calendar, Guru Nanak Jayanti is celebrated 15 days after Diwali on the auspicious occasion of Kartik Purnima.
