Political experts predict that this will be Modi's masterstroke. 

Common people will get relief from inflation

According to reports, the central government is trying to provide relief to common citizens from inflation. According to the Livemint report, the Petroleum Ministry and the Finance Ministry did not give any clarification when asked about the reduction and concession in LPG cylinder rates. This information was sought through email. Global trends are not favorable at present. There is an ongoing geopolitical dispute. There are two wars going on in the world. 20 months have passed since the war. Apart from this, the Israel-Hamas war has made the situation even worse. Prices of petroleum products are at the highest level in the world market.

The cut was made earlier

On October 4, the Union Cabinet approved giving a subsidy of Rs 100 to 9.5 crore beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Earlier in the month of September, the Central Government had approved to give a subsidy of Rs 200 on the price of LPG gas cylinders to the common people of the country. At present, beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme have to pay Rs 603 for a cylinder. Whereas common people in Delhi will have to pay Rs 903. Prices vary from city to city.

Scheme for the poor

The central government had started this scheme for poor people. While launching this scheme, the Central Government claimed that this scheme had been started to get rid of wood burning, wood cutting, and smoke. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched in 2016. The Central Government has sanctioned Rs 7.5 crore for 2024-26 and an additional Rs 1650 crore for providing free cooking gas connections.
