Gallbladder Stone: More than 1500 stones were removed from the gall bladder

Doctors have removed more than 1500 stones from the stomach of a woman in Delhi. Yes, you read it right. 1500! These stones were not her fault at all but were the result of her eating habits.

In an extraordinary medical case, doctors at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi have succeeded in removing more than 1500 stones from the gallbladder of a 32-year-old woman. This woman works in an IT company and has been regularly consuming junk food and oily food for the last few months. Due to this unhealthy diet, she often felt bloated and heavy. To get relief from these problems, she was regularly taking antacid medicines without consulting a doctor.

Actually, for some time, the woman was also experiencing pain in her upper right abdomen, which sometimes spread to her back and right shoulder. This pain was often accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Due to unbearable pain, she contacted her family doctor, who advised her to get an ultrasound done. The examination revealed that her gall bladder was full of stones.

What did the doctor say?

Experts at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital suggested performing a minimally invasive procedure called laparoscopic cholecystectomy to remove the gall bladder and stones. The surgical team, led by Dr. Manish K Gupta, senior consultant, and vice chairman of the hospital's department of laparoscopic and general surgery, removed the gall bladder by making 10 mm and 5 mm incisions in the woman's abdomen.

A bad lifestyle is increasing the risk.

Dr Manish said that changing lifestyle, especially not eating for a long time and eating after a long interval, can cause accumulation of bile, which increases the problem of gallstones. He also said that even if the stones are small, they can go into the bile duct and cause jaundice and pancreatitis. Similarly, if large stones are not treated, then staying in the gall bladder for a long time can cause gallbladder cancer.

Do not take medicine without medical advice.

This case is an example of how an unhealthy diet and taking medicine without medical advice can cause physical problems. Experts advise not to ignore any kind of pain or discomfort in the stomach and consult a doctor. Also, it is important to take a healthy and balanced diet and exercise regularly.
