Like a bank, an EPF account also has a passbook, which contains all the information. But, the difference is that money is simply deposited in it, it cannot be withdrawn and deposited like a bank. The money is also deducted directly from your salary. The problem with this would be that we forget to track the PF account.

How to check the book from the UMANG App?
UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app is the best way to track your PF account, where you can also do many other important tasks. Let us know how to use it.

Install the Umang app on your phone and log in.
Click on 'EPFO Option'.
Go to ‘Employee Centric Services’.
Then click on ‘view passbook’.
Enter your UAN here.
OTP will come on the registered mobile number.
Login by entering OTP.
Now the details of the passbook will be in front of you.

Method to check passbook on EPFO portal
Go to EPFO Portal https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php.
Go to the ‘Our Services’ tab, then select the drop-down menu ‘For employees’.
Click on member passbook' below the service column.
Login after entering UAN and Password.
Then after entering the member ID, the EPF balance will be visible.
In this, you will get to know the account balance along with the details of all the deposits, member ID, name of the office along how much money is deposited by both the parties i.e. you and your company.
