According to Shivpuran, offering water to Lord Bholenath's Shivalinga in the evening is considered inauspicious. Offering water to Shiva Linga between 5 am to 11 am is considered auspicious. Whenever you perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva, do not mix any other substance in the water. By doing this people do not get full results.

Do not pour water from the conch. 

According to mythology, Lord Shiva once killed the demon Shankhachuda, and the conch is made from the bones of the same demon. Additionally, while offering water to Shiva Lingam, ensure that the stream of water is not broken, and offering water in one go is considered auspicious. Because if the stream of water breaks during bathing then people are not able to get the full results of this puja.
