Ingredients needed to make Bhalla
½ cup urad dal
4 tbsp moong dal
add water as required
½ tsp cumin
1 pinch asafoetida
salt as required
Oil for frying the bhallas

Ingredients needed to prepare Dahi Bhalla
2 cups curd
1/3 cup pomegranate seeds
1/3 cup sweet chutney
1/3 cup green chutney
chaat masala as needed
Roasted cumin powder - as needed
Red chili powder - as needed
black salt as required
2.5 cups lukewarm water for soaking the vadas

Method
To make Dahi Bhalla just like confectioners, first of all, wash half a cup of urad dal and 4 tablespoons of moong dal and soak them in water for five hours. After soaking well, filter it and keep it. Now add half a teaspoon of cumin powder and a pinch of asafoetida to this pulse and grind it. While grinding it, keep in mind that its batter remains fluffy.

Add salt to this paste, take it out in a bowl, and stir it with a whisk for two minutes. Now the batter should be light. If you want to check this, put a spoonful of powdered batter in a bowl of water. This batter should float in water.

Now to make Bhalla, first heat oil in a pan. When the oil becomes hot, make balls with the help of a spoon and put them in the oil. Fry it till golden and crisp. When it gets cooked, take it out on a napkin and let it cool. Now put it in two and a half cups of lukewarm water and let it soak for some time.

After this, to prepare curd for the bhallas, first, take two cups of fresh curd and beat it well until it becomes smooth. When it mixes well, put the bhallas in it. When it is to be served to someone, take out the bhalla in a bowl. Add both the chutneys, pomegranate seeds, ground roasted cumin, salt, and chaat masala over it.
