Conjunctivitis: Take care of your eyes during the rainy season!


The rainy season brings happiness, but it can also be a bit troublesome for the eyes. In this season, there is a high risk of conjunctivitis or pink eye infection. Conjunctivitis is a common eye infection, which can be caused by virus, bacteria or allergy. In this, the eyes become red, itch and water keeps coming out of the eyes.


During monsoon, the risk of eye infections increases. Rainwater can be dirty, containing bacteria and viruses. Increased humidity can also cause eye infections. Washing hands frequently

is the most important measure. Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, before and after touching the eyes.

Do not touch the eyes.

Bacteria and viruses may be present on the hands, which can enter the eyes and cause infection. Therefore, avoid touching the eyes. If you are feeling itchy, then apply a cold cloth around the eyes.

Do not share personal items like

towels, handkerchiefs, eye makeup etc. with others. This increases the risk of spreading infection.

Use contact lenses with care

If you use contact lenses, it is very important to keep them clean. Wash your hands before and after touching the lenses. Change the lens solution regularly and do not wear lenses longer than prescribed.

Wear sunglasses:

Use sunglasses when going out in the sun. This will protect the eyes from dust and pollution.

Use less makeup:

Try to use less waterproof and oil-free makeup during monsoon. Make sure to remove makeup before sleeping.

Take care of your eyes' cleanliness

. Wash your eyes with clean water twice a day. Doing this will remove dust and dirt.
