Scientists at the University of Notre Dame in the US have developed this blood test. In this new discovery, scientists have worked on 'liquid biopsy'. This test requires only 100 microliters of blood and it identifies biomarkers related to the most common and deadly brain tumor, glioblastoma, in just one hour.

Glioblastoma is a tumor that grows very fast in the brain and is difficult to treat. Diagnosis of glioblastoma is not easy, it takes a lot of time. 

Causes of brain cancer

Brain cancer occurs when there is abnormal and uncontrolled growth of cells in brain tissue, leading to the formation of tumors. These tumors can disrupt major brain functions. Although the exact cause of brain cancer is not known, some of the major risk factors include exposure to ionizing radiation, genetic predisposition, certain environmental factors, and certain medical conditions.
