Just as silver coins are kept in the house on Diwali to please Goddess Lakshmi, similarly bringing silver coins in the house on Holi is also considered auspicious. It is believed that this removes financial problems and ensures a prosperous life.

According to tradition, the tortoise is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
