What is Progeria?
Progeria is a rare genetic disease that affects one in four million children. In this, the age of children increases rapidly. Children suffering from this disease develop osteoporosis (weakening of bones), heart diseases and other age-related problems prematurely.
Beandry was born with Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome. She was diagnosed with the disease when she was just 7 months old. Despite her age, she weighed just 12 kilos and went to school like normal children. Her dream was to get married at the age of 25, mother to twins and work as a teacher.
Currently, there is no cure for progeria. The average age of a person suffering from this disease is 14 years, but some, like Beandry, surpass it.
