This time the record of five years has been broken in the pilgrimage of Baba Barfani which started after the Corona period. This time in the Amarnath Yatra, 3.65 lakh devotees of Bhole Baba have reached the holy cave and have seen the ice Shivling. This is the highest number of devotees after 2016. Another batch of 4,821 pilgrims left on Friday for the Amarnath Yatra which started on 29 June.

Officials said that on Thursday, more than 14 thousand pilgrims coming from both Baltal and Pahalgam routes took darshan. Officials said, "Today another batch of 4,821 pilgrims left for the valley from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu. Out of these, 1,731 pilgrims left for the North Kashmir Baltal base camp at 3.13 am in a security convoy of 54 vehicles. At the same time, 3,090 pilgrims left for the South Kashmir Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camp at 4 am in a security convoy of 96 vehicles. Both the convoys are expected to reach the valley by this afternoon for further journey to the two-stage camps."

Pilgrims either use the 48-km-long traditional Pahalgam route or the shorter 14-km Baltal route to reach the cave shrine. Those using the Pahalgam route take four days to reach the cave shrine, while those using the Baltal route return to the base camp the same day after the darshan. The Amarnath cave, located at an altitude of 3,880 meters above sea level, is revered by millions of Hindus around the world as the home of Lord Shiva. This year, two base camps have been set up on the nearly 300-km-long Jammu-Srinagar highway and extensive security arrangements have been made at the cave shrine to ensure smooth and accident-free travel. Helicopter services are also available for pilgrims on both routes. The Amarnath Yatra will end on August 19.
