A girl considers her in-laws' house as her own, but why can't boys do the same?

We have often heard since childhood that daughters are someone else's property, their in-laws' house is their real home, but why are these things not said for boys?

Realtionsh With In Laws: In Indian society, marriage is an important stage of life, in which families get connected with each other. Girls often start considering their in-laws' house as their own after marriage, but the boy faces a lot of problems in considering his in-laws' house as his own. Let's try to understand why this happens.  

1. Rites and Traditions

In Indian society, girls are prepared to adopt and play new roles after going to their in-laws' house. From childhood, they are taught that they have to follow the customs of their in-laws. In contrast, boys are used to living in their parents' house. For them, going to their in-laws' house means accepting a big change in their life, which can be challenging at times. In society, Ghar Jamai (son-in-law) is not looked upon with good eyes.

2. Emotional connect

It is an emotional journey for girls to move from their home to a new home. They often try to connect with their husband's family and slowly start considering their in-laws' home as their own. On the other hand, boys keep their roots in their parents' home and consider their in-laws' home as separate. This is the reason why they are unable to form a deep emotional bond with their in-laws.

3. Social expectations

In Indian society, boys are under pressure to support their family and take care of their parents. Because of this, boys often stay away from their wife's family and feel uncomfortable in adopting their in-laws. Whereas girls are expected to make their in-laws' house their home.

4. Time Suspend

After marriage, girls have to spend their entire life in their in-laws' house and sometimes have to go to their parents' house, so the bride has no choice but to consider the new house as her own. On the contrary, boys spend very little time in their in-laws' house. Due to spending very little time, it is difficult for them to consider it as their home.
