Utility News : House and land had to be sold for studies, son became IAS


Pradeep Singh became an IAS officer at the age of just 23 by qualifying for the UPSC Civil Service Exam. IAS Officer Pradeep Singh is originally from Gopalganj in Bihar but now his entire family lives in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Nothing was easy in this journey of IAS officer Pradeep Singh. The financial condition of his family was not good. But he was smart in his studies. The father sold his ancestral home for his son's education.

When the lack of money came in the way, he sold the land of his grandfather and great-grandfather's era. Seeing these circumstances, he made up his mind to prepare for UPSC and dreamed of becoming an IAS, then got busy fulfilling it.

However, he made several attempts at the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Qualified for IRS Officer in the very first attempt of 2018. He appeared in UPSC Civil Services Exam again in 2019-20 and secured the All India 26th Rank and became an IAS Officer at the age of 23.

Pradeep studied in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and did B.Com (Hons). His mother is a housewife and his father works at a gas filling station. My elder brother is working in a private company. Bihar Cadre IAS Officer Pradeep Singh is currently posted as SDM i.e. Sub-Divisional Officer in Danapur, Patna.
