UIDAI update: How to update your photograph or address in your Aadhar card, know step-by-step guide!


The aadhar card is an important identity document as it is required to complete many tasks like opening bank accounts and getting admission to the school. Your authenticated biometric data and personal data are entered on your Aadhar card.

UIDAI has launched its online portal, which enables users to update their Aadhaar card personal information online.

If you want to make any changes to your Aadhaar card, you have to contact UIDAI. You can update your name, address, mobile number, photograph, and email ID information with the help of UIDAI.

Many people don't like the current picture on our Aadhar card. If you also want to update a smart photograph in your previous Aadhaar card, then follow the steps given below -

  • Visit the UIDAI website i.e. uidai.gov.in
  • Download the Aadhaar Enrollment Form.
  • Submit all the required details in the form.
  • Visit the Aadhaar Enrollment Center and submit the form.
  • Your new photo can be taken here.
  • With GST you have to pay Rs.100.
  • After this, you will get an acknowledgment slip and an Update Request Number (URN).
  • With this URN, you can track the update of your Aadhar card.


Step-by-Step Guide: How to Update Address on Your Aadhaar Card:

Step: 1 Visit the official website of UIDAI https://www.uidai.gov.in/.

Step: 2 Next find the 'My Aadhaar' menu.

Step: 3 Select "Updated Your Aadhaar" from the menu.

Step: 4 Then, from the list of options, select "Update Demographic Data Online".

Step: 5 The redesigned interface for Aadhaar Card Self-Service Portal will appear on your screen.

Step: 6 At this moment select the option "Proceed to update Aadhaar".

Step: 7 As required, enter your Aadhaar card number and complete the captcha verification.

Step: 8 Next, Select "Sent OTP".

Step: 9 OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.

Step: 10 After OTP verification goes to the 'Update Demographics Data' option.

Step: 11 Now to make changes, click on "Address"

Step: 12 Enter the information for your new address so that it appears on your Aadhar card.

Step: 13 Supporting document proof should be uploaded as a scanned copy.

Step: 14 Select "Proceed"

Step: 15 Verify that all the information entered is correct.

Step: 16 On the payment page, create the required payment.

Step: 17 Use an OTP to validate the service.

Step: 18 Save the sub and download the program.

Step: 19 Track the status of the address update using the URN.

It is important to note that this update may take up to 90 days. To get your photo clicked for an Aadhar card, you have to visit Aadhar Enrollment Center.
