Sharing a bed with a partner brings good sleep, and relieves stress, a study revealed!


According to a new study, sleeping next to your loved one can have a variety of benefits for both our emotional and physical health.


The study showed that compared to sleeping alone, sharing a bed with your romantic partner was associated with less anxiety and depression. Apart from this, it is also believed that it helps people not only to fall asleep faster but also to sleep for a longer duration.

Researchers say that practicing sleeping next to your partner not only improves people's sleep quality but also reduces the severity of insomnia that some people may experience.

Tim Gray, a biohacker and psychology expert, said in a statement that "sleeping with your partner releases many chemicals that can help you get a good night's sleep." The chemicals – hormones, really – make up the cocktail, they include the 'love' hormone, oxytocin, and the 'feel-good hormone, serotonin, and a few others. High levels of oxytocin in the body reportedly reduce high blood pressure.


Obviously, if one's partner doesn't have snoring habits, it might be a good idea to have your sleepovers with them. By sleeping next to someone, there is also a sense of security and relief, which helps the person to sleep better.

Poor sleep is likely to lead to various health problems such as poor heart health, stomach problems, weak mental health, etc.
