For idli

-1 cup rice

-half cup washed urad dal

-salt to taste

-a little oil


For Schezwan Idli
-1-1 capsicum, onion, and green onion (cut lengthwise)

-3-4 cloves of garlic (crushed)

-1 piece ginger (grated)

-1 tbsp Vinegar

-3 tbsp schezwan sauce

-half tbsp soy sauce

-salt and pepper powder as per taste

-oil as required

For idli

Wash rice and lentils thoroughly and soak them for 5-6 hours.

Grind lentils and rice in a mixer.

Add salt to this paste and keep it aside for 8-10 hours.

Pour the batter into a greased mold and cook the idlis in steam for 10-12 minutes.


For Schezwan Idli
Cut the idli lengthwise.

Heat oil in a pan, add chopped garlic, ginger, and onion, and fry till they become soft.

Add green onions and capsicum and fry.

Mix all the ingredients except idli and fry for 1 minute.

Add chopped idlis and mix well.

Serve hot.
