20 soya chunks

4 shallots

6 garlic cloves (crushed)

1½ tsp red chili powder

¼ tsp turmeric powder

½ tsp black pepper powder

1 tsp chicken masala

2 stems of curry leaves

3 tbsp oil

Salt to taste



* Soak the soya chunks in water for about ½ hour. Squeeze out the excess water and cut it into 3-4 small circles.

* Grind shallots, red chili powder, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, chicken masala, and salt together in a grinder. Grind into a smooth paste.

* Add garlic and process for 2 seconds.

* Toss in soya chunks and curry leaves. Marinate for 15 minutes.

* Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the soya chunks till they turn crusty.

* serve hot.
