Ingredients

½ cup moong dal

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

4-5 small cardamom

saffron

1 cup ghee

1 tbsp Rava

1 tbsp gram flour

Method

First of all, wash the moong dal with fresh water and then soak it in water for 4-5 hours.

After 4-5 hours, strain the excess water and grind the moong dal coarsely.

After this make syrup for pudding. Heat a pan and add 1 cup sugar, followed by 1 cup water and 4 small cardamoms.

Sprinkle some saffron in the water and let it boil. Keep stirring the syrup until the sugar dissolves in the water.

Switch off the flame and keep it aside.

After this take a pan and add 1 cup of ghee to it.

After this, add 1 tablespoon of Rava and one tablespoon of gram flour to it.

- When the gram flour starts roasting, add Masoor Dal paste to it. Now cook the halwa on low flame.

Keep in mind that we should cook the halwa on low flame only until it is cooked.

Keep stirring the paste continuously for 30 minutes. While stirring keep pressing the halwa downwards with a spatula so that the halwa gets cooked from the inside.

Keep stirring in between, otherwise, there will be lumps in the halwa.

Cook, stir, and press till the halwa turns golden brown and you can see the ghee separating from the halwa.

After this add sugar syrup and cook for 4-5 more minutes.

Garnish it with some pistachios and almonds and serve hot.
