Lentils have a special place in Indian food. Lentils are full of nutrition but eating them makes us bored. Necessary ingredients

Moong Dal Dhuli - 1/4 cup

Urad Dal Dhuli - 1/4 cup

Arhar (Toor) Dal - 1/4 cup

Chana Dal - 1/4 cup

Tomato - 5

Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp

Cumin - 1 tsp

Ginger Grated - 1 tsp

bay leaf - 2

asafoetida - 1 pinch

whole dry red chili - 2-3

green chilies chopped - 3-4

cinnamon - 1-pinch piece

clove - 4

green cardamom - 2

lemon juice - 2 tsp

coriander chopped - 2 tbsp

Oil/Ghee - 4 tsp

Salt - as per taste



First of all, put all the pulses in a vessel and wash them with clean water. Soak the pulses in water for 1 hour. After this take a pressure cooker and put the soaked pulses, water, turmeric, and salt as per taste and put the lid on it. Keep it to heat on medium heat. After some time, when the cooker whistles, then reduce the flame of the gas and let the pulses cook for ten more minutes. After this turn off the gas and let the cooker cool down.

When the cooker cools down, open the lid and mash the pulses with the help of a ladle. If you find the lentils too thick, you can add hot water as needed. After this, put oil in a pan and heat it on medium heat. When the oil becomes hot, add cumin, cardamom, clove, bay leaf, asafoetida, whole red chili, green chili, and ginger, and fry the spices well.

After that add chopped tomatoes to it. Now cook it for 3-4 minutes. When the tomatoes become soft during cooking, add red chili powder and let the tomatoes cook for 1-2 minutes more. Now you have to add boiled lentils to the tomato mixture and mix it with the help of a ladle. Now cook the dal till it comes to a boil. After this, turn off the gas and add lemon juice and coriander leaves to the lentils. Delicious mixed dal for lunch or dinner is ready. Serve it with roti, paratha, or jeera rice.
