Naga Women Sadhu: Do you know what tests have to be passed to become a female Naga Sadhu?

The month of Magh has started and this month is considered very sacred from a religious point of view. In this month, from common people to sages, they take a dip in holy rivers, and confluences and worship God. But today we try to know about the life of female Naga sadhus.

Naga is a title and Naga Sadhu can become either male or female. Naga male sadhus are allowed to be naked in public, but female sadhus are not allowed to do so. Similarly, when women are initiated into sannyas, they are also made Nagas.

The life of female Naga sadhus is also like that of other sadhus, but they are allowed to wear clothes from the side of their monastery. From morning to evening, they are engaged in devotion to God and mostly live in the mountains.

Before becoming a Naga Sadhu, a woman has to observe celibacy for a period of 6 to 12 years. When that woman does this, she is allowed to become a Naga Sadhu. After this, they have to do their Pinddaan in the akhada and leave their old life.
