Today in this episode, we have brought for you the recipe of making a special dish of Gujarat, Khandvi, which is prepared with gram flour and curd. -Besan - 100 grams
-Curd - 1 cup
-Green chilies chopped - 2
-Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
-Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp
-Raw coconut grated - 1 tbsp
-Green coriander chopped - 1 tbsp
-Curry leaves - 4-5
-Oil - 1 tbsp
-salt - as per taste
Method of Making
- To make Gujarati style Khandvi, first take curd and beat it well. After this, filter the gram flour and take it out in a vessel. Now add curd to the gram flour and mix both well. After this, add 2 cups of water, ginger paste, turmeric and salt as per taste in the gram flour solution and mix it all well. Now put a wok on the gas on medium flame, pour the prepared batter of gram flour in it and keep stirring it with the help of a ladle. When the gram flour mixture starts thickening, reduce the flame of the gas. After this let the solution cook on low flame for 9-10 minutes. During this the solution has to be stirred continuously. By now the khandvi batter would have thickened well.
- Now take a tray and spread the Khandvi batter thinly in it. If the solution is more, then the number of trays can be increased. After this keep the tray aside for 10 minutes. In this time the solution will cool down and freeze. Now cut the frozen layer into 2 inch wide and 6 inch long strips with the help of a knife. After this, roll these strips into a round shape.
- Now heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, curry leaves and green chilies and fry all three well. After this, pour this tempering of mustard seeds on the whole khandvi one by one with the help of a spoon. Thus the delicious Gujarati Khandvi for your snacks is ready. Kids will also love this recipe.
