How is interest calculated?

According to the National Savings Institute, interest is calculated on the lowest balance in the account between the 5th day of the month and the last day of the month.

If an investor deposits his savings before the 5th of a month, he will earn interest for that month. If one is depositing the amount annually, he/she should deposit the savings before April 5 to earn interest for that financial year.
