Dr. Suleman Ladhani, Consulting Chest Physician at MD Chest & Tuberculosis, Massina Hospital, says, “Due to extreme heat and heatstroke, health can be damaged in many ways. If health is neglected during the summer season, then health can be damaged in many ways. Heatstroke and heat exhaustion can easily aggravate the problem." When it comes to heatstroke, there are several reasons behind it:

1. When the body temperature rises

Dr. Suleman Ladhani told that heatstroke occurs when the body temperature rises to 104 F degrees. Young children and older people are generally at higher risk, as it becomes difficult for them to maintain their body temperature. If you step into the heat immediately after leaving the AC bus or office, it becomes difficult for the body to manage the temperature so quickly, which can lead to heatstroke.

2. Lack of water in the body

Our body is made up of 70 percent water, so if we do not drink enough water throughout the day, then our body will start losing it. Especially if you are out of home or office during the day.

3. Headache

Similarly, if you are out in the hot sun outside the house in the peak time of summer, many times it starts producing heat in our body because the sun's rays fall directly on our heads. This is the reason that many people struggle with a headache in the sun, but it can also lead to heatstroke.

  • Stay away from drinks like tea or coffee, cold drinks, and alcohol.

Try to stay around air-conditioned places. If there is no cooler or AC where you live, then spend the day in places like malls, and libraries, where it is cooler. You can return home in the evening.
Do not take children in the car as the car heats up quickly in the hot summer. Even if you don't even open the windows. Never leave anyone in a car park, especially children and pets, as this can increase the risk of heatstroke.
