Dry fruits for Diabetics: The dried form of fruits is called dry fruit. Apples, apricots, currants, dates, figs, peaches, pears, prunes, and raisins are popular nuts. Many bioactive compounds are found in dry fruits such as vitamins, minerals, carotenoids and phytosterols. All these are needed for good health. Sun-dried raisins retain the grape's minerals and most of the phytochemicals, antioxidants and resveratrol. Interestingly, drying in the sun increases the antioxidant content of raisins. Dry fruits contain about two-thirds of carbohydrates, with a low protein content and a high amount of fiber.

Should dry fruits be eaten in blood sugar or not?
-Indians have a tradition of eating dry fruits and kish mish. Presently these are popularly given as gifts on festivals and marriages. Grapes are the first choice among all dry fruits. Because its seeds or powder can improve inflammation and insulin secretion. Overall, including a limited amount of raisins in a healthy diet is not likely to increase blood sugar levels, and in fact, may be beneficial.

-Let us tell you that consuming dry fruits in limited quantities on a regular basis does not affect blood sugar or body weight. But remember if one does not follow a healthy lifestyle, which includes healthy eating and daily exercise and eats dates, raisins and other dry fruits in excess of normal calories, then he/she will gain weight. Due to this there is a possibility of bad effects on blood sugar.
