Food tips: If you want to eat something sweet and tasty today, make Gulab Jamun at home!



sugar syrup

2 cups sugar

5 cups water

1 teaspoon milk

1/4 tsp cardamom seeds

1/2 tsp saffron

1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Gulab Jamun Balls:

1 1/2 cups khoya , grated

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup flour

1 teaspoon milk



Take sugar and water in a deep pan. Stir and bring to a boil on high heat to dissolve the sugar.

Add milk and cardamom seeds to the sugar water. Boil further and filter.

Add saffron and cardamom powder and boil the mixture for about 5-6 minutes till it becomes slightly sticky.

Take out the khoya in a medium sized deep bowl.

Add baking soda and flour.

Add one spoon of milk to it and mix it all together and knead a smooth and soft dough. Don't forget to make your gulab jamun smooth to prevent it from breaking.

Make small balls from the dough.

Keep in mind that you do not cook on high flame, otherwise the balls will burn.

Now filter them and let them cool for a few minutes.

Then dip the Gulab Jamuns in hot sugar syrup for at least 30 minutes. On soaking sugar syrup, its size increases. Your delicious Gulab Jamun is ready to enjoy.
