Be it vegetarian or non-vegetarian, everyone loves Dal Makhani. If you are also convinced of its taste, then let's learn how to make restaurant-like lentil makhani at home.

Ingredients-
Whole urad dal - 2 cups
Oil - 3 tsp
Cumin - 1 tsp
Tomato puree - 1-2 cups
Kasoori Fenugreek - 1 tsp
Red chili powder - 1 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp
Green chili - 2
Butter - 2 cubes
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Ginger - finely chopped 1 tsp
salt - as per taste

Step 1
First of all wash the urad dal thoroughly with water. Then add water, salt and ginger as required and let it boil.

Step-2
Heat oil in a pan, add cumin and kasoori fenugreek and let it crackle. When it crackles, add tomato puree, salt, turmeric and red chili powder.

Step-3
Cook it until these spices start leaving oil and then add sugar to it.

Step- 4
After stirring for a while, add boiled urad dal to it and mix it well.

Add water as required and let it boil. Then add butter to it.

Step-6
Take care that the dal is neither too thin nor too thick. Then add cream and green chili on top. Dal Makhani is ready.
