What did the senior pulmonologist say?
According to senior pulmonologist Dr Ravindra Mehta, who is working at Apollo Hospital in Bangalore, the same happens in the case of viral diseases. Corona is a viral disease and after the disease, there is often a possibility of infection with additional bacteria. According to him, there are two possibilities in the situation that is happening, one is that Kovid is still there and the other is that some bacterial infection has spread to the lungs. that is causing the fever. This pattern is seen with most viral infections. Influenza also has a secondary infection which can cause problems and covid is also viral because of this it is following the same pattern

This is the reason for prolonged fever
At the same time, other doctors also agree with this. They say that corona lasts only for 5 to 7 days, after which fever and cough go away, although some patients have persistent fever even after 12 to 14 days. There may be a decrease in immunity in these patients, the immunity system may be weak. Apart from this, this can happen due to persistent lung conditions like uncontrolled diabetes, COPD, bronchitis, and asthma. Doctors say that secondary infections other than corona can cause high fever for 12 to 14 days. Apart from this, many patients are given steroids too soon and they develop secondary fungal infections. If the fungal infection progresses, then the patient may have to face a high fever in the second or third week as well.
