Ingredients for making Chana Dal Pulao
Two cups of rice, one gram dal, desi ghee, cumin seeds, one piece of cinnamon, five to six small cardamoms, cloves, two onions chopped, green chilies, pieces of ginger, and salt as per taste.

How to make Chana Dal Pulao
To make Chana Dal Pulao, first, wash the rice and lentils thoroughly. Then soak both of these thoroughly in water and leave it for fifteen minutes. Now put desi ghee in the cooker and heat it. When the ghee becomes hot, add cumin seeds to it. Then add cinnamon and cardamom to it. Also, add cloves together. When these three things are fried, then add finely chopped onions. When the onion starts to fry a little, then add finely chopped ginger and green chilies to it. Fry all these things till they become golden.


Then add gram dal and fry it. Remove the gram dal from the water and filter it. So that all the water evaporates. Roast the gram dal well and keep it with two cups of water. Cover the cooker with a lid and cook till one whistle comes. When the lid opens, add rice to it and increase the amount of water. Then cook it for about two whistles. After the whistle, turn off the gas and let the cooker cool down.

Watch the pulao when the cooker cools down. It will be ready to eat and become fragrant. Along with this, its gram dal will also have been cooked and mixed. Serve the simply prepared hot pulao with green chutney and raita.
