Chamcham Recipe: Everyone must have tasted Bengali sweet Chamcham. Chamcham is often seen in our homes on any special occasion as a Bengali sweet. Milk, mawa, and arrowroot are used to make Chamcham. To make Chamcham sweet dish at home, you can easily prepare it by following our simple method.


Ingredients to make Chamcham
Milk - 1 liter
Sugar - 2 cups
Arrowroot - 1 tbsp
Lemon - 2

For stuffing
Mawa - 1/4 cup
Sugar powder – 3 tbsp
Pistachio - 1 tbsp
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Kewra essence – 2-3 drops
Sweet yellow color - 1 pinch

How to make Chamcham
To make Chamcham, a Bengali sweet, first of all, Chhaina has to be prepared. For this, first put milk in a vessel and keep it to a boil. When the milk starts boiling, turn off the gas and let the milk cool down. After this, take out the juice of 2 lemons and put it in the milk little by little. After some time the milk will curdle. After curdling the milk, filter it with a muslin cloth and remove the water. After this only Chhaina will be left in the cloth. After this, put Chhaina under cold water and pour water for some time, due to which the sour taste of lemon in Chhaina will go away completely.

After draining all the water from Chhaina, put it on a plate and make it smooth by kneading it with your hands for 5-6 minutes. After this add arrowroot in chhaina and mix both. After this, separate half the chena and add sweet yellow color to it. In this way, Chhaina is ready to make Chamcham.

Now put 2 cups of sugar and 4 cups of water in a cooker and keep it for heating. While the water is boiling, prepare Chamcham from Chhaina. After this, without adding color, divide the Chhaina into four equal parts and in the same way divide the Chhaina which gets sweet yellow color into four parts. After this lift each part and bind the Chhaina by pressing like a laddu. After this give an oval shape to Chhaina. In the same way, prepare chamcham from all the chhaina.


When the sugar water boils in the cooker, put the prepared spoons in it one by one and then close the lid of the cooker and cook the spoons for 7-8 minutes. After this turn off the gas. Now let the pressure of the cooker release on its own. Open the cooker and take out the spoon along with the sugar syrup in a big bowl. When the Chamcham cools down completely, fill the stuffing in it. For this prepare a mixture of mawa, cardamom powder, and sugar powder.

When the chamcham becomes a little hard, cut the chamcham completely lengthwise with a spoon. Now fill the stuffing in the cut portion and garnish it with pistachios. Similarly fill the stuffing in all the spoons. Your tasty Bengali sweet Chamcham is ready.
