Asthma patients should include these things in their diet


The food of today's time can say that what we eat is responsible for the symptoms of asthma. People who eat a diet rich in vitamins C and E, beta-carotene, flavonoids, magnesium, selenium, and omega-3 fatty acids have a lower risk of developing asthma. These food products are rich in antioxidants that help protect against cell damage, which you should consume if you want to prevent asthma or reduce its symptoms. 


Include plenty of fruits and vegetables- Fruits and vegetables are said to be a good source of antioxidants. Fruits and vegetables like kiwis, strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli, capsicums, oranges, and grapes are known to be rich in antioxidants. They help reduce inflammation in the lungs. 

Take Vitamin D- People who are deficient in Vitamin D in their bodies are more prone to get asthma. Therefore, it is advisable to include food products rich in Vitamin D in your diet. Include milk, eggs, and fish in your diet to get vitamin D.

Have Nuts and Seeds – Be it weight loss or asthma prevention, these vitamin E-rich food products work like magic. Vitamin E is believed to contain a chemical compound called tocopherol that helps reduce cough and nervousness in asthmatics.


Say no to sulfites – Sulfites are used as a preservative in many food products. Sulfites trigger asthma symptoms in many people. Therefore, it is advisable to stay away from food rich in sulfites like alcohol, dry fruits, pickles, and shrimp.
