Aloo Bharta Recipe: If you do not like brinjal, make 'aloo ka bharta', its taste will make your heart happy

Necessary ingredients
Potato - 500 grams boiled
Amchur powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
Chaat masala powder - 1 tsp
salt to taste
Green chili - 2 to 3 finely chopped
Green coriander - 2 tbsp finely chopped
Dry red chili - 2 to 3
Cumin - 1 tsp
Black pepper - 1 tsp
Whole coriander - 2 tsp
Onion - cut into 2 medium sized thin slices
Asafoetida - a pinch
Oil - 1/4 cup


-To make Potato Bharta, first make a powder of spices. For this, put cumin, whole coriander, dry red chili and black pepper in a pan and dry roast it till you get a light aroma. Then turn off the gas and take out the spices in a plate and keep it to cool down. While the spices are cooling down, mash the boiled potatoes. Do not mash the potatoes finely, but mash them a little thicker so that the potato chunks come in the mouth while eating the potato filling.

-Mash the potatoes and keep aside. Then after the spices cool down, put them in a mixer and grind them coarsely. After that put this coarse powder in the mashed potatoes. Then add garam masala powder, amchur powder, chaat masala and salt as per taste, green chilli and green coriander and mix it well. Now to cook the bharta, put oil in a pan and keep it for heating. When the oil is hot, add cumin and asafetida together and let it crackle a bit. After that add onion and fry till it becomes light golden brown.

-Then add the potato mixture in which you have mixed spices and kept it. Add it and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. When the potatoes are cooked well, after that add some green coriander and mix it. -Your delicious and easy potato filling is ready. You can take it out in a serving bowl and serve it with paratha or with roti.
