99% people take paracetamol in case of fever! CDSCO declared it fake

Recently, a report of Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has been released in which 53 medicines including paracetamol have been given the label of NSQ. This means that their quality is not good, these medicines are fake. According to this study, about 25 percent of the medicines sold in India are fake, which are being sold in the market by fake companies by copying the labels of reputed companies.

The medicines included in the CDSCO report include common fever medicine paracetamol, painkiller diclofenac, antifungal drug fluconazole, vitamin D supplements, BP and diabetes medicines , and acid reflux medicines.
Fake medicines being sold in the market
All these medicines came on the labels of well-known companies. When the concerned companies were asked for clarification, they said that the batch number on the label was not manufactured by them. This means that some fake company is supplying fake medicines in the market in their name. According to the report released in 2022 by industry organization ASSOCHAM, the business of fake medicines is growing at an average rate of 33 percent every year.
How to identify fake medicines
Fake medicines look similar to the original ones, but they have some common mistakes, such as spelling or grammar mistakes in labeling. Therefore, always read the labels of medicines carefully while buying them. Apart from this, barcodes or QR codes have started appearing on the packaging of medicines manufactured after August 2023. Complete information about the medicine is available as soon as it is scanned. No response is received on scanning the barcode or QR code of fake medicines.
