Mumbai Indians' new captain Hardik Pandya has become the subject of much discussion on social media recently. Mumbai has appointed Hardik Pandya as the captain of the team in place of Rohit Sharma, who hails from Gujarat. There is a lot of debate on social media regarding this decision, after two consecutive defeats, fans are raising slogans against Hardik Pandya and criticizing his performance.

There were also reports that Mumbai Cricket Association will provide security to Hardik Pandya at Wankhede Stadium. Local Marathi websites broadcast such news. Police will keep an eye on fans who use inappropriate language or engage in scuffles and will be escorted out of the stadium. However, MCA has dismissed the rumours doing the rounds on social media.


MCA said in a statement that the rumours circulating on social media are false. He denied directing action against fans who jeered Hardik Pandya/MCA and also said that they would follow the guidelines issued by BCCI regarding crowd behaviour in any match.

It is noteworthy that Mumbai Indians have lost both their opening matches in IPL. Fans are once again demanding that Rohit Sharma the captain of Mumbai again. In the last two matches, there has been a lot of uproar against Hardik Pandya and the spectators are raising slogans. Mumbai Indians will be hoping to get their first win of the IPL season against Rajasthan.
