The next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is about to start. The complete schedule of IPL has not been released yet. BCCI has just announced the schedule of only 21 matches. The reason for this is the Lok Sabha elections to be held this year. There is also news that BCCI can organize the second half of IPL outside India in UAE. The English newspaper Times of India has given this information in its report quoting sources. According to sources, some top BCCI officials are currently in UAE and consideration is being given to organizing the remaining IPL matches there.

The Election Commission will announce the dates of the Lok Sabha elections on Saturday. After this, a decision will be taken regarding the schedule of the remaining matches of IPL. However, due to the elections, BCCI may face difficulties in organizing IPL. Therefore, the Indian board is considering taking IPL out of the country.

BCCI official in UAE,

Times of India quoted sources as saying that the Election Commission will announce the dates of the Lok Sabha elections on Saturday and after that, the BCCI will decide on the schedule of the remaining matches of the IPL. The report says that some top BCCI officials are currently in Dubai and are exploring the possibility of organizing the second part of the IPL there. So far BCCI has released the schedule of matches from March 22 to April 7. The wait is still on for the remaining matches. If the second half is held outside, there may be a gap between matches. There is also a possibility that the IPL may return to India for the last phase, that is, the playoffs and finals will be held in India only.

This has happened before also,

whenever Lok Sabha elections are held, there is a problem in organizing IPL. When the second season of IPL took place in 2009, the entire league was organized in South Africa. Then, in 2014, when the Lok Sabha elections were held, the first part of the IPL was held in the UAE and the second part in India. However, the entire IPL was also held in India after the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. Meanwhile, during the COVID times, BCCI also organized the IPL in UAE.
