Mumbai Indians are facing a lot of challenges at this time. After their second consecutive defeat in the IPL 2024 season, MI are at the bottom of the points table and are the only team to have played at least two games without a win. Despite a close loss to Gujarat Titans by a margin of six runs, MI was expected to take advantage of this performance and continue their dominance over Sunrisers Hyderabad in head-to-head encounters.

In a spectacular display of power hitting, Sunrisers Hyderabad's batsmen thrashed Mumbai Indians' bowlers, achieving the highest total in IPL history. Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen played crucial roles in taking Sunrisers to an impressive score of 277/3.

Despite Mumbai Indians' valiant efforts to challenge Sunrisers, they ultimately fell short by 31 runs. However, the most interesting moment came after the match when former MI captain Rohit Sharma was seen talking with team owner Akash Ambani in the dugout.

After Hardik Pandya finished his post-match interview with Ian Bishop, the camera panned towards the MI dugout. There, Rohit, Akash, a staff member and Tilak Verma were discussing some issues. The conversation continued for some time and even after the staff member and Tilak left, Rohit and Akash continued their discussion. They moved to a different location away from the dugout, where Hardik later joined them.

The exact details of their conversation are known only to those present, but it was apparently related to MI's recent defeat. When Hardik was appointed captain, there was hope that the fortunes of the team would change.

MI had been dominant in the IPL, winning a title in every season from 2013 to 2020. However, they have not lifted the trophy in the last three years. Hardik's success as Gujarat Titans captain with one trophy and one runner-up finish in the last two seasons has raised hopes that he can bring fresh energy to the MI camp. That change has not yet materialized.

This was not the first time that Rohit was seen in the middle of some discussion. After MI's six-run loss to GT, Rohit was seen in the MI dugout with Jasprit Bumrah, Arjun Tendulkar and a few other MI players, sparking speculations.
