The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League will be played entirely in India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has also announced the remaining schedule of the tournament after the announcement of the Lok Sabha election dates. Earlier, the Indian Board had announced the tournament schedule only for two weeks.

After this, there were speculations that given the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the remaining matches of the tournament could be organized abroad. Now the Board of Control for Cricket in India has completely put an end to these speculations by announcing the complete schedule. The final match of IPL 2024 will be played on 26 May.

The playoff matches will start on May 21. The last match of the league stage will be held on May 19. This edition of IPL has started on 22 March. In the first match of the tournament, five-time champion CSK made a winning start by defeating RCB.
