IPL 2024: Big relief to Delhi Capitals due to star player joining the team before RR clash!

Delhi Capitals was thrilled to welcome back their fast bowler Enrique Nortje for IPL 2024. Despite his previous injury troubles, the South African player was retained by the team. After missing the opening match, Enrich Norte rejoined the team ahead of their second game against Rajasthan Royals on 25 March.

The team shared a video on social media where Norte announced his return in Hindi, much to the delight of his teammates. In the last IPL season in 2023, Nortje played 10 matches for Delhi Capitals and took the same number of wickets. However, due to various injuries, he has not completed a full season for the team since 2020.

Norte was out of action for South Africa until September 2023 due to a stress fracture in his back. He returned to competitive cricket in March 2024 during the Cricket South Africa T20 Challenge and played three matches for the Warriors. Norte's return is expected to strengthen Delhi Capitals' bowling unit, especially considering the need for fast bowling. Their captain Rishabh Pant had a disappointing start to IPL 2024 as the team lost its first match to Punjab Kings in Mullanpur. The team did not look organized in its first game.

Their worries increased further when experienced fast bowler Ishant Sharma got injured during the match in Mullanpur. With Norte's return, Delhi Capitals are expected to bounce back and perform better in the upcoming matches of the season.
